The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is the policy-making body of the US Federal Reserve. Its rate decisions set the federal funds target rate, the benchmark short-term interest rate that ripples through every financial market on earth. Because the US dollar is involved in approximately 88% of all global forex transactions, Fed decisions move not just USD pairs but also EUR, GBP, JPY, gold, oil and equity indices worldwide.
